Domestic Support for Men

AMIS, a registered Scottish charity that supports men who are or have experienced domestic abuse, are reaching out to raise awareness, and to protect and support men across all of Scotland’s local authorities.

Lockdown is an especially difficult situation for anyone in an abusive relationship. There are many hundreds of men across the Highlands who are currently receiving no support. There will be many men who are yet to recognise the abuse or are suffering in silence. AMIS' mission is to care for the mental and physical health of everyone that requires such help.

  •       Free and confidential helpline – 0808 800 0024 (9am to 4pm, weekdays)
    •    We offer high-quality, ongoing support to any man in Scotland that is in an abusive relationship.
  •       Email support – support@amis.org.uk
    •    Men can email us at any time. This is also confidential and preferable for many who cannot call us, including those with hearing impairments.

AMIS works with any man who lives in Scotland and is over 16 years old, inclusive of transgender and non-heterosexual men. Anyone concerned about a man can also use our services to get information and advice.

AMIS used to offer highly rated face-to-face support but are not currently receiving any significant donations or government funding to continue this service. However, our helpline and email support are still running and are ready to help.

You can also contact Police Scotland on 101 for non-emergencies and 999 for emergency situations.
